You need a website. Or you have one that's outdated. Or you started building one yourself, and you're over it.

If any of those ring true — you're in the right place.

I build Squarespace websites.

Fill out my contact form, tell me who you are and what kind of help you need, and you’ll hear back from me within 24 hours.

1.

For most of my clients, a website comes after we've nailed the brand identity — because by that point, I already know who you are, what you do, and who you do it for.

2.

The next step is figuring out what your website needs to do. Drive brand awareness? Sell a product? Book appointments? Promote a service? Once we know that, we figure out what needs to be on it. You bring the industry knowledge and any proprietary information; I'll handle the rest of the copy. We'll meet to review pages as the project comes together.

3.

You'll walk away with a bespoke Squarespace website built for your business. I'll create any additional graphics your site needs along the way. I'm not a photographer, but I know good ones — just know that photography isn't covered under the project cost.

If your current site isn't on Squarespace, it'll need to be transferred over before we can get to work on it. I can help with that — it's less scary than it sounds.

And before we build anything, your brand identity needs to be solid. If you're an existing business, we'll talk through what brand work you've already done. Spoiler: we'll probably need to do a little more.

  • Websites start at $5000. Half of the payment is due when you sign your contract, and the other half is due upon completion of the project. I do offer payment plans. If you’re interested in working together but experiencing sticker shock, please email me and let’s figure out a plan that works for you: susan@stateofthecreative.com

  • It's the best. Squarespace is the most user-friendly website platform out there; their tech support is excellent, and the pricing is reasonable. It's a platform I trust; I use it for this website and am happy to stand behind it for my clients.

  • Fill out my contact form! it’s available under “Contact” in the main menu. I’m typically pretty quick to respond and should get back to you within 24 hours.

  • Yes! If you're already on Squarespace, we're good to go. If you're on something else — Wix, WordPress, whatever — we'll need to move your site over to Squarespace first. That's something I can help with, and it's less of a hassle than it sounds. Reach out and let's talk.

  • A solid brand identity is more than a logo — it's your mission, your purpose, your values, and the throughline that connects all of it. It's what allows the right people to see themselves in your business. Everything on your website flows from that foundation. If I don't have something solid to draw from, the site won't have anything real to say. If you're not sure where you stand on this, it’s worth talking through before we get started. Reach out, let’s talk.

  • I sure do. Every site is different, so maintenance looks different too. We'll figure out together how often your site needs to be updated and how involved those updates typically are. My standard rate for site updates is $125/hour, but if you need consistent, ongoing maintenance, a flat fee might make more sense. We'll figure out what works for you.
